Policies / Tips
-The most common problem with pumps are clogged impellers. If the pump is not priming or flowing well or at all, you may have a clogged impeller. This problem is most common in the 1/2 HP pumps because of the small outlets on the impeller. A 1HP pump will usually let most stringy leafy debris and rocks fly by- The newer energy efficient pumps such as the Intelli Flo pumps also have larger impellers to let the abundance of debris Hawaii produces to fly right by….
-Do not allow pH to get above 8.0. At 8.5 chlorine is only 10% active. At 7.0 it is about 73% active. By just maintaining pH around 7.5 the chlorine is 50-60% active. Keeping the pH in check will allow you to use the full potential of the chlorine that is already in the pool and save money.
-Run your pump for at least 8 hours a day in the summer and 6 hours in the winter. This will ensure you have good circulation in your pool. Circulation is crucial to a low maintenance swimming pool!
—It is very important that you always maintain proper water level to insure that your pool water is circulating
properly and to prevent costly repairs. The life of your motor is significantly shortened if it runs on low water
